I'm still laughing at Justa's comment..
Nav, you have a magazine issue in all probability.. You might want to disassemble and reassemble it, with particular care on the follower.. Guessing you'll find instructions on YouTube.. OR.. You could just carry one less round in the magazine and "hope"..
My old agency (AZ DOC) transitioned from revolvers to Glocks (19's) in the mid 90's and introduced Peace Officer cert's at that same time in an effort to improve professionalism, and decrease staff attrition.. We used the Ruger mini 30, and Remington 870's.. A difference in weapon system priorities here though, as the shotgun is the go to piece in Corrections.. All DART (designated armed response teams) sqd's carry shotguns, and the Sqd. leader has a 40 MM grenade rifle.. War story here to good to pass up, all supervisors had to Q on the 40.. I was "lucky" enough to launch a bounce CS (inmates throw back gas, these had small explosives that made them bounce) into our hogans alley that used hay bales to separate the shoot no shoot targets.. It's amazing how fast hay will burn after it's been drying in the hot AZ sun.. Besides an embarrassing incident report, i was known as the Sgt. who burned the range down for a couple weeks..
Lots of guns, besides trying my hand at competition in the past, I collected 1911's, and Smith Victory 38's.. I no longer collect anything but old Colt DA (NOT the SAA) revolvers.. This is a shootable IRA, as the price on the model I collect (Army 38) has close to tripled.. Besides shooting a 100 year old gun is a lot of fun..
