I never was a Pistol guy. All my guns were for hunting.

1. 1100 remington semi automatic 12 gauge. Loved this shotgun.
2. 243 savage lever action. Was a very nice bush rifle. light and easy to handle.
3. A little 410 browning double barrel shot gun. great for grouse and Woodcock
4. 22 cal. lever action browning. a really pretty target rifle. But was not accurate at all.

All very good weapons I carried an AR15 as well. Viper with the training I had I would pull the rifle way before the shot gun. However shotguns have thier application. I carry a Glock .380 caliber most of the time off duty. Glock 42 I think. It's deadly accurate. I love shooting it.

If you care to participate then simply state your short term or long term goals and let's encourage each other to achieve them. I remember when Viper and I had our eyes sat on moraf we helped each other stay after it. Guess what , it worked. So I hope you all will share and let us all be apart of those goals and celebrate their achievement.

I'll kick it off. I want to make the top 100 in Feburary!!

Hello Wolves!
I achieved the third aim. :woohoo:
30k Kills.
What does the next aim have good? :S
I want to contribute it to a thread “Wolf Pack Goals” of RC.

on the subject of hand guns: I own three. I have the Smith and Wesson 9mmSVE four inch barrel, hard to conceal but in TN its optional open carry. This one is special. It is the first one I ever bought. It is greatly accurate out to its max effective range. It never jammed during a day of tossing two hundred rounds down range.

Next is the S&W 38 airwieght , no hammmer. This one is a simple five shot revolver. Very accurate and terrific feel in my or my wife's hands. Its actually hers but I carry it often.

Both a terrific and I would buy S&W or reccommend them to others.

My next was a good little back up. The Kel Tech 380 pat. Yes a little pop gun, not greatly accurate outside of say ten feet , but up close, a head shot or multiple torso hits will stop the thug.

I am currently having an issue. A full magazine wil not lock in, if a round is chambered or not. It will if I reduce the load by one. The locking mechanism / mag ejector is not engaging for some reason.

Now to squadron business in regards to goals.

I am closing in on 10000 kills. I want that. I am at level 26, I smell moraf...

How did you like the Glock? I never did like the Glock trigger system. After we finally moved on from wheel guns, I carried S & W 40s for the rest of my career. . . started with the 4046 (heavy piece of junk), and finished it out with an M&P 40. The M&P is a very enjoyable, user-friendly weapon.

I wouldn't mind it if Santa brings me a Kimber, but my personal favorite is a Sig Sauer. I've had a P226 9mm for almost 30 years, and hope to move up to a Sig 40 or 45.

30 years? That's means it's the German made Sig.
Those are sweet - I could surely be persuaded to trade my Kimber for that P226.

I have never run across a situation where the shotgun was a better choice than the AR. That silly thing sits in the cradle until its time to clean it or qualify with it.

Just like you started out S&W 357 sweet Gun. Then started carrying my 1911 Colt. Bought the Glock in 1997 carried it through the rest of my career. I did research prior it's almost indestructible you do not have to clean it right way. You can drop it in mud water does not matter will still shoot. I loved it used it in multiple training exercises as well as thunder ranch. Look it up if you do not know Thunder ranch was just it that had shoot houses and other shooting exercises. But for reliability and durability great weapon.

Amen viper I got where I didn't qualify with it. I cleared houses with it and everything else. Shotgun mostly took up space. I guess the main reason I had taken more long gun training then anything other than pistol. Ther AR is much easier to hang on and manipulate than a shot gun with proper training and seems more practical. I very much agree with you.

The keltec is famous for that I don't like them seen too many issues with them. I carry the Glock .380 its durable 6 round magazine no jamming problems. I qualified with 90% up to 25 yards. It's a shooter. It's very accurate. Carry in my waist band in what they call a sticky holster. Or in my pants pocket it's very comfortable. I also have 380 German made browning that is killer as well.

I'm still laughing at Justa's comment..

Nav, you have a magazine issue in all probability.. You might want to disassemble and reassemble it, with particular care on the follower.. Guessing you'll find instructions on YouTube.. OR.. You could just carry one less round in the magazine and "hope"..

My old agency (AZ DOC) transitioned from revolvers to Glocks (19's) in the mid 90's and introduced Peace Officer cert's at that same time in an effort to improve professionalism, and decrease staff attrition.. We used the Ruger mini 30, and Remington 870's.. A difference in weapon system priorities here though, as the shotgun is the go to piece in Corrections.. All DART (designated armed response teams) sqd's carry shotguns, and the Sqd. leader has a 40 MM grenade rifle.. War story here to good to pass up, all supervisors had to Q on the 40.. I was "lucky" enough to launch a bounce CS (inmates throw back gas, these had small explosives that made them bounce) into our hogans alley that used hay bales to separate the shoot no shoot targets.. It's amazing how fast hay will burn after it's been drying in the hot AZ sun.. Besides an embarrassing incident report, i was known as the Sgt. who burned the range down for a couple weeks..

Lots of guns, besides trying my hand at competition in the past, I collected 1911's, and Smith Victory 38's.. I no longer collect anything but old Colt DA (NOT the SAA) revolvers.. This is a shootable IRA, as the price on the model I collect (Army 38) has close to tripled.. Besides shooting a 100 year old gun is a lot of fun..
