Anyway, the glue surface is a very thin profile. I've already determined that silicone isn't going to do anything without using way too much. Gorilla glue never works... Maybe Loctite super glue?

Aggravating...

I've had good luck with gorilla glue if you apply it let it dry then reapply
I could care....But I dont

This is a one shot deal... Glue on the little edge, then stick it to the surface. I can't go around the edge or anything without "uglying it up". The silicone I have is really greasy. Something drier might work.. Does Gorilla make a super glue that doesn't foam?

The worst of it is, it already has a chrome ring. It just doesn't have a big sexy chrome hooded bezel. Waste of time I guess, but when you look at the damn thing 14+ hours a day...

Use JB Weld. Tape it in place while it dries. B)

Whatever you finally glue with, the chrome plastic probably has a chrome painted surface that isn't a good surface for adhesion. If it has that, scrape it off first. Clean both surfaces with alcohol.

For plastic to plastic, I like 2-part epoxy that is rated for plastics. Home depot has some. If not there, Golfsmith's 2-part epoxy for clubs (steel to composites) does well on plastic.

If you hate mixing sticky stuff, try a hobby store that sells RC planes, and they should have a cyanoacrylate (crazy glue but not that brand) that specifically bonds to plastic. Make sure it's the plastic one. They will have one for foam, but that's just a different formulation that doesn't dissolve styrofoam, and it's only so-so on hard plastic. The plastic one definitely says Plastic in the Works On list, and it is formulated to not turn plastic (ie your dash) white and brittle, yet glues plastic very well. Pick up a cyanoacrylate "kicker" spray as well, and you will have instant gratification - one spray and it freezes solid.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. The next trick will be placing it in the exact spot I want it over the gauges. Usually, these things fit exactly, and have a little band of glue inside where it is just pushes on and stays there. I can't find one my size, so in using the one made for earlier year model trucks like mine. It is just too big on the outside, and barely big enough on the inside. If I finally get it on there correctly, I'll take a pic and post it. Thanks again for the help.

Sweet bathroom setup. I sure hope that power outlet is a proper GFCI circuit!

Sorry we've been fighting with the county bureaucrats on inspection issues. Safety, I get. But some of these rules are pure lunacy that only a government office could come up with.

I would mix a special drink to toast our world's government administrators... but it would just slow you down amd make you unproductive

40 thousand views on only 4300 replies. Around 9.3 views for each post... Funny. It actually seems about average on the older threads, but it makes you wonder who reads, yet never replies. I wish they would reply and join in.

Anyway, thanks everyone for your continued patronage!

Kes, lack of $$$$$!!!!! Plus, as I've never worked in a bar, or managed any kind of food service business, no one in their right mind would back me either. That said, I think I could build a hell of a bar in real life.

I am in here at least twice a day and don't post a lot so a good deal of those views are mine. Sorry if that burst you bubble jack.

I usally come in wearing camo so I kinda blend in. I kinda just walk over to the bar and help myself. Usally a strongbow or a wellers and Pepsi. Grab a cigar. Write on the notepad next to the register so manfred know who to bill. Then head over to my dark little corner. 90% of the time the only way anyone know I was around was the drink and cigar added to my tab and the extra coin in tip jar B)

Gin, ginger ale, rum cake, crumb cake, whatever your pleasure. My snack? Sorry, keeping this for myself, a bag of twizzlers.
