Those looks great oedius!
I myself (vintage rifles wise) own a Mosin Nagant 91/30. It was one of the Russian models made before the cheaper materials were being used in WWII. There were a few dings in the stock, but after some careful sanding and finish -- it looks brand new.
Only thing I didn't like about it was having to clean ALL the freakin' cosmoline off of it. Holy crap. For those who don't know, the USSR coated rifles that they were putting away in storage/selling in a substance called "cosmoline". It smells awful. But it protects the wood and gun metal from deterioration.
Anyways -- getting that stuff off is a real pain, hahahah. But at least I learned how to completely field strip the rifle that way.
I think the Ruger 10/22 is an excellent starter rifle. Extremely reliable and pretty damn universal in use. But once you want to move up in the calibers, I recommend everyone should purchase a good ol' Mosin Nagant. They run about $100 for an excellent conditioned one and the 7.62x54r rounds are CHEAP. They're also about the same size as a 30-06 and give a bit more kick.
Only downside is that most of the rounds are corrosive. So after shooting, you'll have to put some ammonia/barrel cleaner down the chute so you don't screw up your barrel.
