Ok, Just thought i'd start this for those who are strategists so we could share our strategic knowledge.
I suggest grabing a copy of The Art Of War, mine is by Shambhala pocket classics.

First off, "when you have the force of momentum in war, even the timid can be courageous. So it is possible to choose them for their
Capabilities and give them the appropriate responsibilities. The brave can fight, the careful can guard, the intelligent can communicate. No one is useless."

While the Art of War can apply to some IRL situations (such as arguments) and to some video games (such as the ultra-realistic Day-Z); a lot of aspects it presents are simply invalid when trying to apply them to most video games because of one thing:

People aren't fighting with their actual lives. This makes people careless, unpredictable and most importantly -- unconventional.

Though -- I do enjoy that book, heh.

It applies to games where you have a finite amount of lives, or just one per game, the case with WOT.

People are willing to take more chances when they know "Hey, I can just try again next round."

Same applies here.

It's not being derailed -- we're discussing The Art of War and it's application to video games.

well, the point of this thread was for the strategically minded people to share their inspirations, and hopefully, plant the seeds of inspiration in aspiring strategists to formulate their own strategies as well as courage in some, who are, as of yet, undiscovered, to step into the light and embrace their calling

I know I use strategists way too often, but I can't use tactician because strategy is how you fight and tactics are the secret plans and whatnot that you USE to fight

I thought your strategy of guarding your base from tanks with walking soldier out on the beginning of the plain was ingenious Isaac not many players seem to know what can be shot with the rifle .

Good thinking mate.

Thanks but one problem, not enough ammo, and the soldier is cut to ribbons with ease, and once you're out of rounds, you're stuck with, the, tank, and that can't take on planes like the soldier can

Well, that depends, are you willing to let me put you through a blender on liquefy, cause that's the only way you'll fit.

Of course, I'll get out of the forest safely, i'm a Grim Reaper ( in-training )
Thus I can't die except of my own decision

Um, a vortex is a swirling mass of air or water that sucks. Gasses and liquids take the shape of their container, so you can donate the blender to goodwill!

The picture was taken using long-exposure photography.

The camera is set to a long shutter speed, capturing an image over a longer period of time. If images are moving during this time, it can create interesting effects. You can find some amazing examples in the link below.
