I though it would be appropriate to put this message in the recruiting thread for now. If/when Zuperman's changes bring more people (and squad wars) to the game I will remove it.

(Please note as of December 2014 the ebb and flow of the game's popularity seems to have hit a low point. Due to the nuisance of real life many good squad mates are not able to fly as often as they would like. Also the further delay of the release of the fabled Squad Wars has curbed some enthusiasm. Though keep in mind; nothing could encourage more activity like new blood. Make no mistake, the NLR is here for the long term and though we may often seem quiet, when we fly we are always deadly.) - McFate

The update is already out on all platforms except for iOS. Hopefully there it gets a bigger push.

@ McFate: I had an idea recently about NLR public relations and recruitment. My thought was that we could have a NLR new DF player of the month thread. Wouldn't be hard. If any of us bumps into a nice, intelligent, new talent, just remember the name. At the end of the month, one of us could post on the thread "This Month's NLR New DF Player of the Month is..."

Doing so would bring positive attention our way, and give noobs a spirit bump.

Of course the player would not have to be invited to join the squad, nor would we have to take into account his/her kdr, but just recognize the pilot for good spirit - a simple shout-out.

Each of us squad members could take a month to be on the lookout for new blood and make the announcement at the end of the month. I will take January if the idea takes off.

If not, eh... its the thought that counts.

I like that idea Finn. It would be great to give some new guys some recognition. It would be a reason to pay closer attention to them. If you would like to spearhead this idea please do. When You're ready you can start a thread for this under the NLR section.

First month of the year seems a perfect time to start.

Any ideas for a title? "Noob player of the month" doesn't seem right.

The title should be unique to the NLRs. Maybe like the Big Mac Trophy (after Big Macintosh which is apparently a MLP character - and, of course, has its own McFate reference). OR "The Dash Trophy" if Big Mac is a little too gender specific. Of course MLP doesn't have to be attached to the NLR - just thoughts.

Whatever it is, I vote that Disrupt designs the image for the award/trophy/badge/

BTW,

Any NLRs interested in using the New Lunar Republic of Dogfight's voice chat channel can send me a PM. We have a channel on an app called Zello. It works on android, apple or PC and is completely free. It operates like a walkie talkie. I fly on a Kindle Fire tablet and use zello on my phone. Although it can be very helpful for finding eachother and for coordinating in game, it's greatest value may be in becoming more familiar with squad mates.

I have not been using it much lately but if people post a note on the forum or squad chat saying they are on, I will check in if I have the opportunity.

I like this idea a lot. With a separate thread we could also post on multiple players throughout the month with a vote/poll on the website for a winner at the end.

You guys (and gal Ms 420) have an Amazing fighter, whose name is ironically Blue Fighter. I must say I played pretty satisfactory in this game, but Blue Fighter never gave up and battled hard to get that last hangar. Immense respect for you Blue Fighter and those u represent [NLR]. Its fine that you take a break but you can't leave squad like this. We need you to make this squad grow. You don’t want to fly is understandable that you have family commitments but definitely we all want you to continue the job you are doing for the squad. Hope you will not disappoint us.

I agree with Vivek and Finn on this one. Don't leave because of the drama queens and trolls out there. Refocus on the squad, recruitment, and development. Even if you were to never play this game again (which I sincerely hope is not the case) I would still like to see NLR in front of your name. I hope you will reconsider

Well Fate your status will not be taken even if you never return for one. Second, I think it should be opposite. Forget about the forum and just fly. Kill people to get aggression out. Don't worry about responding to whiners. Humans will never cease to whine, in df world and the real world. Just come around the skies or forum whenever you feel like it. No game should make you feel pressured to play or partake in their forum. Like I stated on your other thread, I've taken a step back from the forum and are only coming by to say that I'm heading up. I read NLR thread and important game info from Juaquin, but that's it. Hopefully I'll still see you up there hun...

I like and totally agree with what 420 has said. Leaving means, leave the forum not the squad thread or flying.

I hope after a little break of 2-3 days you reconsider flying and continue posting on only NLR thread as we do want to read your honest opinion and advises. Don't move away from system as there we may be people who respect you a lot and don't want to loose you. I know one can get in touch with email and other option but you represent NLR. You stood strong earlier also and is known for that only. Mcfate is Mcfate. No other person can take your position. Once who joined NLR will remain NLR till end that what I think and will be respected generation after generation.

This is the duty of moderator to inculcate the respect of seniors in present members and you along with Luna, 420, Reid, Octiva are the ones who can do it as they are the founders of NLR. The chain should never be broken.

If you are not happy with the NLR squad for any reason and want to leave then we will not stop you if the reason is good enough but due to others, its not accepted by any means.

You can get farewell from other squad if they want to give but not from NLR.

I do hope that our moderator will listen to the request of all members and will continue as NLR and will write on NLR thread.

Yesterday I finally subscribed to the game after reading Google play store mumbo jumbo. I really hope ALL of you also subscribe. $1.99 a month. Get a prepaid card and put $25 on it and you get subscription for a whole year and some change left over. You younger players that really ENJOY this game and don't get an allowance, mow some lawns, wash some windows, wash cars, walk dogs, get a little motivated to pitch in for this awesome game. 1 lawn (front n back) will pay for this game FOR A YEAR! If it's an argument about lag, mostly it's other players playing in the wrong server causing lag. There's some inherent lag associated with the game, but has never diverted me in almost 5yrs playing this VERY fun game. Also I REALLY enjoy the wwar style PLANE simulator, and NO OTHER game I can easily chat while in a turn fight. I have installed and ultimately un installed MANY other games that were remotely close to this game. None offer all that Dogfight offers. Just ponder that. I hope that we can be a 100% subscribed squadron Think about it and give us your feedback k babes
