I would like for someone who uses the xbox 360 controller on windows 8.1 to advise how to set it so it responds smoothly and so I can shoot and bomb using the controller instead of the keyboard.
It is not responding smoothly enough to be able to aim correctly. movements are jerky. Also, what sensitivity setting do you use?

Use Xbox driver if it ask for. Jerk while moving joystick is different and if if without touching the joystick then you need to update Display driver.

Start with 60% sensitivity and when you are comfortable gradually increase in steps of 10

I have been using one for quite some time. It just plugs in and plays. It is jerky. But so are the arrow controls too, especially for aiming in head on shooting. I have my sensitivity all the way up...always have. If you like dogfighting, you'll never have a chance unless sensitivity is all the way up. If you've just started using it, it will take some time to adjust. In time you'll get better at using it.

Umm...What? I only play on my phone so I didnt know you could hook up a joy stick thingy.

thanks blue. using win 8.1 w Xbox controller on desktop machine. jerkiness is the movement using the joystick, not all the time. just have no fine control of movements. comet has apparently gotten used to it. I do not think I can. win 10 tablet will have to do.
