I don't like the idea of the squadron getting too big. It is growing all be it slowly which is no bad thing in my opinion. Noobs are invited in. I was one such case, and I think you were too were you not Rat.
An example is the one you were chatting to earlier in world chat. He was level six and expressing an interest in the squadron. However by his own admission he had already been banned twice.
Surely it is better to wait, grow slowly and accept new squad members for.all the right reasons.
Just my thoughts. I'm sure there are other views as well..

Personally, I would prefer, to keep it small for the time being since we're having communication issues i.e. lack of communication, in-game only active, world chat or squad chat only active. Before we expand, I would like to request all members of TFL to be active or at least check into the forums every so often for the purpose of being able to stay in touch, coordinate as well as being able to attend to other matters such as being muted for no apparent reason, etc.

For accepting new pilots, from how I witnessed Taps and Cobra recruited us, they would observe us first and then have a little chit-chat with us as well as train us a bit. We also need to have a probationary period of sorts just to see how well, the newcomer not only flies and fights but as well as interacting within the team and the community.

Standards? For me, these are what I have in mind:
1) Always a sport. No matter if s/he wins or loses, they are always gracious.
2) They have an open mind; they are willing to listen and try out new things/tactics.
3) They should also know how to reach out and communicate.

I think more communication in squad chat. Ive noticed our new members go there a lot to reach out and say hi, but as a teamwe barely go in team chat. I think new team members should be required to keep a positive kdr through the probation period. I believe a pilot with a positive kdr is going fly better than a pilot with a negative kdr basically because they want to keep that good kdr, my opinion . Thanks team

Hmm... good point, however, the reason why I requested members to be active in the forum as well is because not everyone has the luxury of time to play DF a lot. At least through the forum, they will stay updated with the latest happenings...

A good alternative might be to create a facebook group for TFL but I gather that not everyone uses facebook...

I think you both make good and valid points. Like the idea of a Facebook page for the squadron. And more communication with squad chat or on the forum is vital to us. Not quite sure about the positive kdr. But all good ideas.
One point I would make is that it should be mandatory to fly with the [TFL] sign. We need to make sure that all squad members can easily recognise each other quickly..

Yup, I really do need to fly more often... however, at the rate my work sched is going (being hectic and toxic), I can only really commit a once a week in-game presence... hopefully in the next two months, I'll be able to adjust my schedule...

One of our top and most respected pilots " Triple Taps" has decided to leave our squadron. Am completely gutted.
However, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you taps, not just about how you built our squadron, but the way you conduct yourself as an honourable and highly skilful pilot. Not least for how much you have helped me personally in the game.

Okay. We've had a bad few days with people leaving. But don't forget this. We carry a lot of respect in the dogfight community, and have a great but also highly skilled squadron.
