Aka... I may be the one starting fights in my own bar, or shooting out the windows. Ok. Anyway, here goes nothing.

I quit!

Dipping. As in a form of chewing tobacco. It's a bad habit that I picked up during my misspent youth that I haven't managed to rid myself of. I'm very much a nicotine slave, and its way past time to break it. But, I become a regular sumbitch when I try to stop...

"I find myself as the dogfight king of controversy. It's not a place where I'm used to being, nor do I know really how to handle it. But, being the type of guy who likes to find solutions for problems, here goes my best attempt." ..... these are your words jacklpe.

Tobacco wanted me to think it was my best best mate, when really it took the piss and was a wicked master. I used to get caught without, so I would wait until the craving got mental and go through my car ashtray, getting black fingers making roll ups from spent ones, yuk, really yuk, and I felt sorry doing it too. A bit like your bottle, what a thing to have to drag around in your life. Boy it's a painful fight, it hurts for a short while, but it ends, quicker than you think. I treated the problem by physically fighting back. No fag in face, its my choice. I wanted it gone. NO ONE had any effect on me with wise words, it was down to me to find a solution. It's your fight I'm afraid, it's a stubborn S.O.A.B, you have to be too. I don't recon most smokers ever 'give up', we just have liberated time off. I gave up for nearly 3 years so I was a non smoker. One day I had one, then another, then yeah Im back on it. But 3 years was bliss. Good luck.

Pint of spit please and I fancy a humble pie.

In Sweden we have tobacco called snus . It's not fore chewing but to put under your lip.
I have been using it since I was 9-10 years of age
Started smoking at 13 but five years ago i quit smoking. I can still feel the need for smoking.
Snus has not been proven to be a danger to ones health but, its addiction is compared with heroin.
One of thees days when I'm motivated enugh I will quit snus to but not today.

Good luck on your quest my friend, I know you will need it.

Dipping in the US is slang for dipping snuff. In the lip also, but free floating as opposed to being in a pouch as snus sold in the us is.

A friend snorts a powder menthol Snuff constantly but it's not common here.
To dampen the nicotine craving, 'electronic cigarettes' are popular in the uk. Vaporised nicotine in measured doses.
It might attract a new habbit though. I still say go all out to get there.

If any of ya'll thought I was hard on ol Pistol Pete, here's a few more examples of what a fine hero he is. Just thought we'd put it all out there. So much I could say, but several of you know me and know EXACTLY what I'm thinking. But, why say it? We'll let Pete do the digging and covering all by himself.

It had me gripped again within 3 weeks. Its aggressive stuff.
I should try again. I'm fast on the increase.
Each one etches a deeper trench.
Avoid work rituals. I invested in a week off.
Take a walk when the few early intense cravings get overpowering.

My job is nothing if not a ritual. I only did marginally well today. Failed about 4x, but I guess it's better than doing it all day long like normal. I'm gonna try for better tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
