Why not give us blimps Z?
Barrage balloons or "blimps" would be easy enough to shoot down (for points) , but until they were, they would make dogfighting more difficult around the airfields or other protected areas. You would have to think twice in order to not have your wings cut off by the wires. It would increase the authenticity of the game, and would make fighting around the airports more interesting. Blimps would also be easy to implement, I think, - or am I wrong about that?

I see your point and I like it -- but you have to keep in mind, it'd either:
A. Boil down to another "Defend the Zepplin" like game where everyone defended the blimp. B. Trolls would hijack blimps and crash/bomb/fly off map with them. |

A troll is someone who purposefully ruins something that other people enjoy, this could be:
1. Video Games 2. Forums/social networking services 3. Life 4. etc If someone with ill intent gained control of a blimp; they could fly it off and crash it, ruin their own base, etc etc etc. |

It's called he's using a better plane/one of the latter ones you buy.
A troll isn't a hacker. And no, there aren't hackers on Dogfight as the game is server based. |

I was thinking of simple, small unmanned blimps anchored to the ground with wires, like were used in numbers in both WWs as efficient, "passive" anti-aircraft measures over populated areas and air bases.

Noone would defend the blimps. They would only be a nuisance to the attackers , preventing them too easy access to the enemy hangars. It would also make it easier to get off ground, when the air is thick with enemy fighters - until the blimps are shot down, that is.

I belive he is talking about the baragge baloons they were smallish but shaped sort of like blimps.

Ah, that's what I figured. I know exactly what you're talking about, the Navy used to keep many onboard to prevent planes attacking their ships/kamakazees.

On normandy there were some Luftwaffe planes but the only one that I remembered was priller
Who ever dislikes you gets payback by something else.
My planes bullet proof.  Hy FLYER the talking banana light im always beyond the clouds or way over my head ;D Once upon a time knights of the sky's were hey! But on a beautiful day we dueled and fell now red poppies cover our graves in Flanders... |
