In Bomb The Airport, you can't get into a tank if you're within a certain distance of the target, but this isn't the case om Bomb The Carrier. I don't know whether this is because it would be too difficult (obviously, the carriers move) or just to give the game a different dynamic. I think as often as not, the game is won by someone in a tank who can get a few shots off before they are destroyed. I saw an interesting tactical development in a game just now, where the entire red team more or less concentrated on protecting the tank so it could bombard the carrier unmolested. (Attacking the tank was made harder by the random control loss introduced in 4.4.28, in which sometimes you just can't point the aircraft where you want it to go, so this tactic may be harder to play once everyone has 4.4.29)
Is there a case for restricting tanks in this game? I'm all for variety, but depending on the circumstances I think tanks can have too much of an advantage. I don't want to get to a situation where a team is able to camp because they have a tank, so there's no reason to go back to base and rearm. What does everyone think?
