Zuperman I have a cunning plan. It would be useful to know instantly the type of device players use, so when answering posts about technical questions, answers can match appropriately. This data field could be an option in their profile set up. What do you think?

That's really a good idea. When people tell us and Zuperman about their issues it would be very helpful to know about their devices.
Android or iOS. iPhone or iPad. And which version of the firmware they use.

I don't know if this forum allows the admin to put such an option in user profiles. Then only members with more than one device would have to tell Z more exactly informations.

Because some times it's really just the the firmware what makes trouble.

Here an example:

I use these both tablets:
Lenovo LIFETAB S9714 with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Lenovo LIFETAB P9514 with Android 4.0.3 ICE CREAM SANDWICH (rooted)

On both devices worked Dogfight very good all the time. If a new update made trouble then on both tablets. Until I've updated the new firmware 4.2.2 on LIFETAB S9714. Now is Dogfight unplayable on this tablet with movement controll.
Fortunately I know that only my firmware makes this problem so it was no problem to fix it. I just rooted and downgraded the firmware to a earlier version.

That shows what an amazing job Zuperman has to do, to keep Dogfight runnig on all these different devices.

I think what also would help, is to start these both topics:

Issues with android version of Dogfight
Issues with iOS version of Dogfight

A moderator could pin them that everyone would know where to post his problem.
it would save a lot of mess in the forum and Zuperman has only to watch these two topics.

Having the device and version info slaved to a particular symptom complaint is always a good thing! But I'm nor sure if the profile is the right place, because it shows your latest profile even if you post was written a while back. Many of us are on device #2 (or more) since starting playing DF, and players like Hel have multiple devices. When we change our profile (e.g., my Android jusy updated from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2), now the old post that described symptoma under 4.1.1 is misleading.

For now, always state device and os version, and DF version, when citing symptoms.
