Hey zuperman this is a great game....Lets fix this game before you make promise things that my be out of your control to fix.. like this game...conection problems out the ying yang...conqure this first then ill donate to the next level...this levels broken needs repair..dont promise me thing you cant deliver ..sound like a car salesman...your better than that zuperman....mean old Conection problems devil.

let me clarify 2 things...
1) i didn't promise the world. I promised that with the resources this kind of things will be less likely. It's math: money to pay for 24/7 support, you get 24/7 support. No money to pay 24/7 (like this moment right now)... they place you in queue and hope they don't delay much.

2) i spent 3 hours trying to contact support for the servers, they were being attacked for what i was told (not dogfight, but the hosting company) and it was pretty bad for them. it seems they have it under control now.

so... just to make it sure i explained myself, i can't promise, and will never promise, that you won't ever have connection problems, but not even amazon or google can do that! We are asking for funding to get a new version, better, faster and with better support.

Also "new jersey devil", your tone was completely inappropriate. We are real people working 18 hours a day without the funding to get this done yet, we are not your slaves. Stop insulting the team or other players calling them "sheeps".

From "Risk and challenges" of the project on the kickstarter page, let me remind you one of the main points and why I'm going out of my usual polite way and opening my mouth for your unfortunate comment:

Zuperman...I love this game. Its the oniy thing I play when I have the time. I work about 14 to 16 hours a day my self so I under stand what you and your team are going through. I do appreciate that!!!!! I just cant see how your going in to bigger and better without fixing this master piece..Is DF Elite gonna have the same problems abd with server problems now how are they going to hold up with all the new fantastic graphics you and your team are going to install. If its a money problem sell some stock ill be in for that..or raise the cost of the game, make it an annual payment to play. We will pay for it its a grat concept and game...just please fix this one first. Im hooked on it ......mean old devil......John...

I share some of the same concerns. From what I gathered from other posts/sources is that the improvements developed for DFE will also be applied to the original. With the funding from the kickstarter pledges echoboom will be able to pay for the upgrade service contracts with their server providers. In my job I have to deal with these kind of contracts too. The way it works is you either pay for the basic service (maintenance) and get served when there is an issue in line with all the other basic service contract holders. If (with the influx of capital) echoboom can afford a premium service contract with their server provider, there will be improved and dedicated service... On call... 24 hours a day. Basically, with these service yahoos money talks and BS walks.

It is a valid concern that DFE will be victim to the same issues (ie lag, lost connections, etc) as the original. I do not know what kind of upgrades are planned to mitigate this, but hopefully this is part of the DFE execution strategy. For the record, I agree that the best way to show-off the potential for new and improved version of anything is to display overwhelming success with your current works. I understand your frustrations.

Z, I know you and your team are working hard and it is appreciated. DogFight has me hooked. Issues cause frustration and I'm guilty of cursing the game, the servers, the developer(s) , my iPad or any number of other things when things don't work correctly. It doesn't mean I'm not extremely appreciative of all your hard work. Keep it up! Knock some doors down and get that funding. DFE will be worth it. Thanks again to you and your team.

ya know john...the fact that you have the ear to a dev and that he is one who relentlessly tries to address every concern speaks volumes. for the past couple years i have played a console game where the dev was approachable when they were releasing and promoting the game then suddenly were abducted by aliens when the bugs started popping up. that game cost much..MUCH more than this and was only on 2 platforms and on 2 devices. the community kept up the faith and hoped for patches and updates that never came and had everything dashed with a final "dear john" letter from that dev saying they will no longer support the game. in otherwords "thanks for the money....suckers". i do not see this here. as anxious as you feel your concerns are being addressed but somethings arent quick fixes...and depend on the fire under some 3rd parties butt...and if they dont move to fast the whole she-bang moves at a speed we dont care for. your game will be fixed...maybe not as quickly as you would like...but it will be done and done right. and i doubt you will see a "dear john" post here...

I took all efforts to not enter on this discution, but my latin blood is stronger than my prudence:
Despite the fact that I donate paid 25 bucks for the Elite project, I am with John, entirely!

- OK, John used a not-so-light tone;
- OK, Zup's team money is short, and the current version of DogFight is a "low-budget" thing;
- OK, Zup is working 18 hours a day, despite being short of money;
- OK, Zup is not our slave.

Now, my turn:

1 - Did John use a not-so-light tone with Z? Hey, so did Zup when answering me the last and only time we trade posts, months ago! And he is the vendor, and we are the customers, remember that!
2 - Is money short for making the current DogFight a less buggy thing? Then, why didn't Zup's team ask for money for THIS CURRENT VERSION? I am not rich, but I would gladly pay 50 bucks a year to play a less buggy game!
3 - Working so hard on what? On current DF or in the elite project? If it is on the current DF, you are working too much for a no-money thing, and it isn't being of any good, bug is everywere; and if you are working hard on Elite project, sorry to say that, but unfortunately I don't believe you will get the money before the deadline. I paid 25 bucks, repeat, but I did it just because I love the current buggy DF so much, and Zup himself said that there is no reason to buy credits for current version, and we should invest in Elite instead, because current version would be improved in some sort of side-effect (oh, my engrich... hope I made myself clear now).
4 - Zup is not our slave? Of course not!!! WE ARE THE SLAVES!!! Yes, we, old men that shouldn't be spending so many hours a week on a mobile game, but does it anyway, because of the addiction this little buggy game inflicts! We are slaves, because we paid for a marvelous defective product that we can't stop complaing about, and yet can't stop using!

In the beginning, I used to play 2 hours a day, every day! Now, I spent 3-4 hours a week on this game, most of this time reading messages about lost connection and alike. And I know many other players in the same condition.

I won't re-read this post as I use to do with my posts, because I believe that, if I do it, I won't post it. So, more than ever, sorry for my bad and whining engrich.

Thier are much to important thing than this game....My Prayers go out to all involved in the Boston Bombing today...These cowards need to be hunted down and Killed...How fast we forget 9/11...

The reason we didn't ask for money to fix Dogfight is because kickstarter doesn't allow you to ask for money already existing and working projects. That's the main reason.

Also, because tons of requests were about adding WWII planes and more tanks and stuff that simply we don't have the budget and is a bit out of scope of Dogfight. If we add some of those things, it would make it uncompatible with many phones out there (meaning, people that paid for the game, wouldn't be able to use it out of the blue). This already happened when Apple blocked all devices previous to iphone 3gs. If Apple does it... their call, but I don't want to do that to my players unless forced to.

So, things like servers, support, and many many improvements from Dogfight Elite will have a huge impact on Dogfight because they all run on the same machines and we will be the same team for both.

Also, about the coins... I asked not to help buying coins at that moment because I was about to launch kickstarter. It wouldn't make sense the same person pays money on coins and then is asked to pledge on kickstarter too. At this moment getting the funding on kickstarter is the priority, the purchase of points in game is so low (not even 0.05% of players) that it would have almost zero impact on making a better game.

I hope that clarified things and my apologies if i was rude to new jersey devil, but i didn't sleep much for the last 2 weeks O:)

And about the complainings, need to say I sort of "got used" to the current version's flaws, and will complain no more. Nothing is perfect, save Laura.
Hope I am wrong, and you guys manage to raise the funds until the deadline. But I sincerely think that you should extend the period of kickstart.
I really love this game - despite its many, many flaws. If not liking the game as I do, I wouldn't bother writing so much about it. But as Mean Ole Devil said, there are more important things to care about. This game is driving us nuts, I already said this many times on this forum - and take this as a compliment!
Lets go back to normal life.

@Pedrinho i want to change the time but kickstarter doesn't allow for that. It's 30 days, done and gone.
I'm looking for some company that may want the marketing side of it. For instance, an airplane with your company logo or one company that wants to promote a specific war mission (veteran groups?) or one that wants to have a big banner like a coca-cola old banner at the beginning of the mission.
