I for one do NOT like playing Capture the Carrier. It sucks, I hate it.

Pictures speak louder then words. Here's how I feel about CTC:

I will be the first to admit that when that mission pops up I go uuggghh. But playing CTC is a combination of skills and mission play. You can play with or without bombs.

The challenge is staying alive while trying to capture the carrier. Ever since the updates have done away with sniping on carrier, it can make for an interestingly long endeavor.

It also depends how many players you have on your team. This is a true team effort, because you can not capture both carriers by yourself if you have multiple players that know what they are doing on opposite sides. If one side is stacked, well you have to really work hard to get the mission done.

I try to avoid it, but when my hands get tired of playing back to back bomb missions it is nice to kick back and fly. It also helps you develop your landing skills, well for me it has.

Yeah it's the same with me. When I first start the game I don't have much fun. But as the game goes on I get into it and enjoy it more. It's not so bad as you say. I enjoy the teamwork games. Dogfight, however, isn't a high point for me. I've only won one out of about 100.

I like CTC. Usually in a good game the best communicators win. And barnstorming the lower deck to hide like a rat is always fun and challenging. Touch and goes in there? Sure--- if someone scary's out there!!

Something I recently learned is if a carrier is under you control (blue,) setting your brakes makes you immune.

I sigh when a Dogfight starts. But even if someone already has ten kills when I jump in, I like to stick it out and try to do my best.

I know wig hates it...well long ones anyway...I'm with whosethisguy (so long as he stays off my ship) that I enjoy it enough but ffa dogfight is my least favorite. It should be at least teams...when in real life would you have 8 planes all enemies? all together...I know it's not real but some realism is req'd.

I hate it.
Any mission that takes skill, comms, patience, strategy, timing, misdirection and good-looks, I hate.

I did at first, then I understood the sliding coloured bars at the top, discovered how to push it into credit by landing, taking off and landing immediately again, before heading out to attack. I had a top game today, and funny, I decided to comms air cover as landing is vital. We won the game, it was a great buzz working in support. Everyone 'played'. I got virtually no kills for cash, but played a useful porn. You sum it up well. I don't seem to be immune with breaks on, HOWEVER, I discovered today that a crash is imminent if you brake at too high a ground speed, I.e. you touch down, a bit fast, then apply the front brake, which is well serviced, resulting in a nose dive on deck, embarrassed to say it took 4 attempts to work it out! Hope to catch you out there.

I like all the games, as long as there is no snow in them....can't see well when there is snow

it takes too long.When it was first put out in an update i was excited ,but later on ,capturing it got harder.

i dont mind a ctc at all. i am used to it as we played something simular on one of the console games i play. i am not too nuts about the free for all dogfight.

Capture the carrier is great for practicing tank driving. Everyone leaves you alone. That's the only thing I find it useful for.

I think its good for strategy purposes. If u dont us teamwork u loss. U cant just go all willy nilly. U have to have a plan. It doen need to be more evenly matched though

Covering a blue carrier against wave after wave of incoming reds...
Taking out defenders while your team is trying to land...
Engaging incoming reds in a dogfight before they can get close to the carrier...

The only reason I don't like it now is that it gives you no points. Really this game needs a better reward system...should I not get some points for getting the carrier to my side? Like a point a second??? I would rather guard than land since I can get some points and if you are trying to get a better rank ctc is a nightmare for time to points ratio. As for fun it's great you get to chat a lot and it feels funny to have 2 teammates in the carrier with you together. What goes on in the carrier stays in the carrier Just ask YEMX

When you get the right players it is the most complicated and diverse mission out there. It will be a Squad War favorite I'm sure. Every type of flyer has a role. When your playing it with tank spawners and base campers with inexperienced pilots not so fun as you spend your time moving the meter.

Well I guess that's one way to pass the time while the slider is ticking away...

It is not my favorite mostly because there are no points. If it gave you a few points for every so many seconds on the carrier I would like it a lot better.

From now on I'm only playing the games that dispense cash for every deed!

Tip: [secret passage theme from LoZ] what you want to do is hide in the "basement" 'round back of the carrier. Then when time's up, you can turn around and lift off. Down there ur practically invincible
