I've heard a lot of banter on here about carriers and WWI. I'm a former Navy man myself and appreciate historical accuracy, but the elements of the game, IMO, are as they should be for the sake of gameplay.
The first carriers built from the keel to be a carrier were British. I think the first wasn't commissioned until around 1917. The US didn't have real carriers until the earlier 20s. Ranger Class, I believe.
Before those there were seaplane carriers, but these were basically floating cranes that dropped and recovered seaplanes with a boom. They didn't actually "launch" planes. Planes were also launched from the decks of battleships, using the predecessor to today's catapults. This was basically a sling shot and those planes had to be where they could land on land, because there was no way to recover them.
So yes there were WWI aircraft carriers, but not what you would call a carrier today. As for the game, great job echoboom!
And as for accuracy, I've never know a carrier to be in a landlocked lake, but its still fun.
I leave the tank subject to a US Army expert!
