For those on the artistic side before I push it... any thoughts on the new hangar & plane?
The planes will slide from right/left with some basic description on them. Then you pick the plane you like.

That screenshot was taken real time from my PC. I put it on my android phone and it was going at 2 frames per second... it looked like a slow motion film.

There is a full town in there btw, 15 buildings, grass, clouds and real-time lighting with shadows... all! So it's ready, but mobile devices are not that powerful to handle it yet

Add a couple buildings to each side, nothin fancy. More for me to blow up )

ipad 2 yes, ipad 1, nope. iPad 2 and new android devices have double the power than the ipad 1.

How about the iphone4??

iphone 4 has the same cpu than an ipad 1.
iphone 3gs has the same cpu than the iphone 4 too.

Android phones/devices have the same cpus that iphones. Internally there is practically no difference between android and apples. The hardware is manufactured by the same guys: ARMH.

I will do that when I have separate servers for desktop versions. You can't compete among players one playing with a 5 inches screen and another with a 22''.

I'm also thinking of adding subscription instead of one time payments to the apple version. This way I can afford to have more servers since it will be paid by usage instead of by new user registration.

actually, i would love to (i'm not being sarcastic) but there is no way for me to do it. The whole payment/usage system is controlled by the market place (either apple or android) so not even my family can play for free lol

to give you an example, i have to buy my own application myself to be able to use it online.

I love all the detail - the grass, the pipes, the light - but you know what I'm going to say...the building is not WW1. It should be made of wood or canvas. Roller shutters were invented in 1956. The roof would have been triangular, not domed.

I will keep going on about historical accuracy. I am going to a living history festival this weekend and will get to chat to pilots of WW1 planes. They are not allowed to wear digital watches. They are passionate about attention to detail, because anacronisms can blur our vision of the past in so many ways.

If subscription is added it would be less than $1 per month (the price of a Coke a month!). I hope that doesn't have much impact on an MIT funding

nah, i want to keep it cheap and affordable for everyone but i also have to pay for hosting and servers. Right now the cost of hostings, time spent and licenses are way over what I can handle.

It also does not make sense to have 1000 people connecting a day but only 10 paying and making everyone's connection slow.

I think $1 subscription is really cheap (i don't know of anything that cheap to be sincere) and it should be enough to keep me running the game for everyone.

As for atvan, I may be able to put some kind of 3 months/6 months subscription plans so that you only have to get one card every long period. As far as I know gift cards work for subscriptions the same way than regular purchases though, so it should be ok for you.

If you're struggling to break even, stop developing the game and get advertising. It's a great game and people will be really excited to hear about it.

you guys have got to try to get these new builsings to fit on ipod 3rd gen please work on that!

As more people subscribe, apple gets more money, so would the price go down over time? Even if its cheap now?
