As FLYMAGIC wrote months ago, karma on here is meaningless. Many use it to be hurtful. It can be given (which I do for those that feel it's important) and it can be taken away (which I do when one says/does something stupid such as interrupting a memorial thread).

I use them instead of LOL, to say I agree, etc....it's a quick and easy way to say "I appreciate you and your thoughts".

It raises your REAL LIFE karma to tell people you appreciate them.

Isn't that more important?

Well, technically -- negative infinity. But I never touch anyone's karma. I let the forum users do all of that. I just bumped yours +20 for the lulz.
