I started to build an all balsa replica of a hatz biplane years ago but stopped after the fuselage was finished. I need to find it so I can continue. It was gonna have working controls and everything but it was only gonna have a wingspan of 2 feet. I was building it from actual blueprints for the real plane.

Its definately an idea of making a museum piece, or i could always see if the imperial war museum want it? Its the kind of thing they would half build so the public could see the inner workings etc? Hmmmm il have to investigate i think.....

Just get it. It will be a fun project. Even if it never gets fully finished it will still be one hell of a learning experience. You will get much joy from it.

its funny you should say that, i brought a magazine earlier and there is a company in new zealand called the vintage aviator ltd. And they built (from scratch) the only flying B.E.8 in the world using the original plans etc and it is beautiful. They also built two D.Va albatross fighters!!!!

Good for you Mad!! I agree with Kevy, provide some pics. If you ever want to sell it when you're finished, there are plenty of buyers where I live, which is aircapital of the world, wichita, ks. Also there is an air musuem here that would like to get there hands on it. Good luck on your build!!!
