A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR NORTHWESTERN  COOK

LAKE

NORTHERN LEE

NORTHERN DUPAGE

DE KALB

BOONE

WINNEBAGO

OGLE

MCHENRY AND KANE COUNTIES UNTIL 1045 PM CDT

AT 958 PM CDT

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A  LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN  EXCESS OF 60 MPH.  THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING  FROM KENOSHA TO ROUND LAKE TO LAKE IN THE HILLS TO GENOA TO HILLCREST  TO FRANKLIN GROVE

MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 45 MPH.  IN ADDITION

AROUND 942 PM WINDOWS WERE REPORTED BLOWN OUT IN  BELVIDERE AND A WIND GUST TO 65 MPH WAS MEASURED SOUTH OF ROCKFORD  AIRPORT WITH THESE STORMS.  SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE NEAR

WINTHROP HARBOR AROUND 1005 PM CDT.  ZION

WAUKEGAN

VERNON HILLS AND PARK CITY AROUND 1010 PM CDT.  PALATINE

NORTH CHICAGO

MAPLE PARK AND LONG GROVE AROUND 1015 PM  CDT.  WHEELING

WAYNE

STREAMWOOD AND SCHAUMBURG AROUND 1020 PM CDT.  ST. CHARLES AND ROSELLE AROUND 1025 PM CDT.  PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

WIND DAMAGE WITH THIS STORM WILL OCCUR WELL AHEAD OF ANY RAIN OR  LIGHTNING. DO NOT WAIT FOR THE SOUND OF THUNDER BEFORE TAKING COVER.  SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY INSIDE A STURDY STRUCTURE AND STAY AWAY FROM  WINDOWS.

Whoa, even the Great Lakes Naval Station is being hit up in Waukegan.

I've been there (and in the base, purchased several Commando Sweaters there. So comfortable. ) a few times. That place isn't too fun when it's raining. And I was there during a lighter rain. Yikes.

I wonder how all the recruits are going to hold up.

I was at lak eerie watching the blue angels the other day. Fricken awesome!

That's pretty cool. I've only set sail upon Lake Michigan in my stay of Northern America. Loved visiting Chicago the most out of all northern cities. Especially the local street art scene. And don't forget eating at Chino's, hahahah. If you happen to go to one of 'em Sput -- scan the walls. I drew/wrote "Slenderman is watching" there.

I forget which one it was that I went to. However, I do remember it was on the first floor of the restaurant -- wall all the way to the left. There's a "Slenderman" about 7 inches tall with the inscription under it. Eyes peeled, mate.

Heh, reminds me of the day after graduation for all the recruits coming out of boot camp in The Great Lakes Naval base.

Stayed at this crazy place called Red Carpet Inn over in Waukegan. Pretty crazy partying. All I'm going to say is -- I only remember half of it.

Oh and the freakin' amazing croissants they had for the free breakfast. The front desk guy was French so I had a lot of fun conversing in French, eating croissants and drinking OJ. T'was a fun two days while I was there.

But the best was the sneak pass...
Anyone who has ever seen them knows they perform as a diamond, and then in two.
Anyway, they brought in the diamond, when they pulled off, they're HIRED commentator said these words
"let's watch as general McCaughl changes the formation, so we watch and were just like, hm, no change, and then boom! One of the two, 5 or 6, zoomed pass. It was awesome.
And the part where my six hour cardeive there ends up with me meeting up with them in the elevator of the hotel? The best!
