Glad you liked it!
I enjoyed putting it together...and have enjoyed reading people's feedback.

Hope to fly with you soon!

By the way...I live in Germany-- nice name! I've heard that spoken once or twice. ;)

Yeah. I owe you an explanation for today's "Hit and Run". Here's what happened: I had three minutes to kill before I had to leave for work. I jumped on dogfight...there you were... Bang! ;) Then I had to go.

You can bet next time I'll stick around longer and we can "tangle".

Take it easy!

(Nice paintjob on your Albatross, BTW)

If I know I have a chance of success, I will carry a bomb. If not, I'll drop it.

If I meet a group of very experienced adversaries, I'll drop my bomb as soon as possible to be able to meet them in a dogfight.

I also think it's right for all pilots to rid themselves of their bombs if attacked near their own base. It's just a practical consideration: with the enemy so close, you need every inch of maneuvrability and speed to be able to stop an attack.

i only drop the bomb if i expect a turning fight. if my base is under attack, ill get up and drop my bomb at about 50 feet. otherwise, I keep it. it keeps my aim straighter. its harder than usual to aim without one cuz of the high speed and sensitivity.

Very interesting. You're the first person I've ever heard that says keeping a bomb on the aircraft actually helps you shoot more accurately. As for me, I ALWAYS assume the fight will be a turning one... That's why I don't bother carrying a bomb. Ever. Thanks for the post, Calvin! See you over no-man's land...

Really, even in a bombing game you dont carry one? I drop it if I need to get somewhere FAST, or if I expect to lose a turning fight.

In a turn, never drop until your above the enemy. Theres a chance youll bomb them. :)

No u drop it as soon as they start spinning, before they even get passed u. U catch speed that way and u have a better chance to shoot them down before they get behind u. If u wait till they are below u then ur screwed.

personally,

I like to keep people guessing what I got on board. I would never drop a bomb within sight of the enemy.

if they figure I dont carry bomb, theyll let me pass.

If im not carrying a bomb, sometimes I like to pull the throttle down just a bit to pretend like im carrying a bomb

again,

acting is really important. that includes pretend noob evasive maneuvers like seasawing the wings.

if they figure out that you are not carrying a bomb, players have wisened up and will just leave you alone close to their carrier/base.

so its important IMO to mix carrying bomb with not carrying bomb, and to ACT like your not carrying a bomb when you are and vice versa

this is how i fly !!! :)

I tend to agree with the bomb carriers - I never jettison until it is really necessary for defense and then not in sight of enemy - though sometimes it makes them drop too and engage in a fire fight.

We all know the twists and turns a game can take and many times I've been surprised to make it through the defenses.

Bombs and slow speed do stabilize your aim, like throttling back slightly when head-on.

Of course, with my infamous dogfight shoulder injury and playing joystick mode, I'll probably need to avoid dogfights more.

I drop my bomb 95% of the time....mostly because i turn fight alot in each game.....i get fewer kills per game but my ratio is often 6 kills per 1 death

I always drop my bomb unless I know there's a tank and if there's a tank and I don't have a bomb then I crash into the tank.
