That seems to be a problem with a custom keyboard. You probably have installed a keyboard or Lenovo has installed their own... try disable it and use the default google one, i'm pretty sure it will work.
btw, my sister had the same problem with an LG phone. LG install their own custom keyboard and it has issues with some apps.
