I attempted to purchase points today, the google play store removed the funds from my account but the points never posted to my game. I fear I was just ripped off. Is there a trick to getting the points to show up in the game?

Just wait a bit and don't worry, the funds need time to clear. The points show in game at first and then disappear for a few hours but they come back. Often you'll need to enter a game and then quit before they show again (after waiting). It sucks, but I promise you were not ripped off.
The longest I had to wait for points was overnight

Yes, sometimes 2 or 3 days. After that send an Email to the creator. He can straighten it out.

See below the points do come through, it just takes awhile I was a newbe when I posted didn't trust the game. Developers here are good.
