Puerto Rico 65th Infantry Regiment Borinqueneers Honor Flight on Jetblue airways on their way to the US Capital to be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. We are proud of our 65th Infantry Regiment here on the island for their bravery and sacrifices. Thank you to all the military and civilian personal that demonstrated the respect this veterans deserved. I prefer frestyle aerobatics to precision aerobatics, but it does take tons of skill to do what they do.

Nice Thread AG! Love watching the Red, White, and Blue F-16's. Been a huge fan of the Thunderbirds since I was a kid. First time I saw them they were flying the F-4 Phantom ll.

Here are some photos of the Thunderbirds when they visited the island in 1964. The hats they are wearing are call “pavas” it’s the traditional hat of Puerto Rico. The straw hat was used by the jíbaros and later sugarcane workers. It was an inexpensive addition to the wardrobe that protected them from the sun's hot rays. It is made from dried palm leaves. Were this the planes u saw Skyripper?

No. those are the F-100 Super Sabre. In 1964 they actually switched to the F-105 but were forced to switch back to the F-100 due to mechanical issues and incidents.

They started flying the F-4E in 1969. They flew the Phantoms until 1973 when they switched to the T-38 Talon. In 1983 they began flying the F-16A until 1992 when they switched to the current version, the F-16C.
