Must watch, you got that rite on. Thank you so much for sharing that piece of history. I'm going to watch those clips many more times. They are intense and clearly show the bravery of those aviators of both sides. I can't describe in words the immense respect I have for those aviators. Thank You so much.

Enjoy guys! Btw, the whole series is well worth buying from the history channel if you can afford it

One of the first things they said is "He applied rudder". Can you do that in this game? Rudder control was a valuable tool in aerial combat. This game lacks that.

Also, we can conclude the planes in this game use incendiary bullets, otherwise the planes would survive more than 3 hits. Wouldn't 50 or so incendiary bullets be able to destroy a small hangar?

Unfortunately no, there's no rudder controls in this game, a long running gripe of many in this game. Realistically speaking, yes, you could destroy a small hangar with armor piercing high explosive incendiary rounds, but those didnt exist in ww1. It wasn't until the end of the war that fighters started carrying basic incendiary ammunition, though for the game, i think incendiaries are a safe assumption :) white phosphorous anyone?

Nice links [WS]HD I've always loved the dogfight series. I've never seen the air ambush episode, and only half the supersonic one before.

-jman70- In my mind I've always imagined what the game calls a hit is only well connected burst striking a venerable location, or doing notable structural damage to the plane. Hits that just rip a patch of fabric or splinter some wood, yet by themselves do not hinder flight are not counted.

Though It's not the same as having real rudder controls we can at least mimic that one manner by rock the plane back and forth. If rudder controls get added how that will that manifest it's self on keyboards, and tilt devices? I have very little flight simulator experience before Dogfight.

You'd use a separate slider. Or you could do it like a virtual joystick that is moved up and down to control throttle and side to side to control rudder.

Yeah we I saw those planes turn around the yaw axis like that I thought it would be nice if we had rudder. I don't see how he could do it though

The only thing i don't like about the virtual joystick is that there are times when you want full power AND full rudder deflection, and the virtual joystick sacrifices some of that to balance the two.there are so many controls that are needed to fly on the various platforms that a cockpit redesign would most likely be necessary for the addition of rudder controls.I'd personally like to have a separate rudder slider on the left side above the fire button but glitches in the game have reappeared on my phone again so that needs fixing first.

Actually, I've seen it a couple of times.

Twice, when I've run out of ammo in dogfights people have let me land to reload. One of them I went on to win15/0. B)

I don't remember who they were but I tip my wings to them.

Sky gamblers has a good solution for a rudder control. I can't say I like some of their "automated maneuvering" but the rudder is nice.

The old link to the video quit working so I've added a new one.
As a fun fact I just learned Zeppelins used inflated Cow intestates, and it took over a quarter million cows for each!
