No real instructions. A lot of answers and tips on board. Go thru the offline missions first. Learn the setups controls (calibrate) and preferences. Not hard! Part of the game is learning. Have fun!
Read the forum for tips, do at least the first offline mission, and practice. Everyone SUCKS when they start, but eventually u figure it out. Ur rightthat the controls are hard.to manage, but they get easier with time. Wlcone to Dogfight!
When you open up the game is there an upgrade sign over the plane? If there isn't your already upgraded to full version. If not hit it and you should be. If you have Appel you won't be charged again even tho they say your purchasing. I'm not sure of android.
Have a similar problem...bought upgraded planes on each team. Got to use them ONCE, then later when I select multiplayer game I have no link to select the new plane...it just says the plane is in the hangar. So, I don't get to use the plane I paid to use. If this is how the game works I am outta here...

The buildings are unbombable. You must bomb the white hangars
The rudder and ailerons are coupled - the A/C have such short wings that yaw is not an issue - sometimes I would like to have a rudder to 'walk the nose' horizontally across a target, but with practice one can get there by micro tilts. The turning can be done by tilting the phone/tablet down/up re the longitudinal axis between your hands and also just rotating the tablet. I find that a combination of both increases the turn rate.
For me the flight characteristics are not unlike flying a glider in real-life. Stalls are not a part of the flight envelope however, you can turn and roll and climb and with impunity. The plane does simulate a high descent rate if you just kill the throttle, tough to do an actual flare using just speed control with elevator action - the WW1 A/C were high drag so I have no idea how easy a dead stick landing would be. The throttle on most were blip buttons that the engine was on full bore or off - great gyroscopic issues (rudder needed) to keep it straight as the mass of the engine was rotating.
Fun...

One set of planes are german and the other set are british....when you join a game, it usually is random and you either join on the german side or english....
1) Ignore the allied plane and take-out the opposition.
2) After taking out the enemy planes locate the ally. The allied plane flies towards the enemy airport and then banks West.
not to sound too much the idiot, but whats the point of joining enigma or 111th? I c the labels all the time but doesn't mean much 2 me as a newbie...I fly as beatea...
