I don't understand why this continues. I just came out of a game with one. Phantom killed 10 times, back to back. I just about left it. Why should I have to leave a game I have been playing for over an hour because windows 8 sucks????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? The game was a lopsided 7 vs 1. I was the one. I was so pissed off by the time Lowenhardt showed up I finished the game with him on my team. I was happy when he showed up. I wanted him to drop that bomb and SK the whole red team into oblivion. I will take a whole team full of dropping SKers over one windows 8 invisikiller. Total crap Zuperman. This windows guy I will remember. We will see how awesome he feels when the cards fall just right. There will be a game some time where I get those 10 freebie kills back plus interest. We are lucky they don't like to bomb things. I don't really understand how it was happening. As soon as I realized he was a phantom I stayed back. I didn't go past midfield. I was trying to avoid being phantomed. Stay away from them or where they are flying and you shouldn't get killed, right????? WRONG !!!!!!! He was at his base the whole time. Still killed me even though I stayed clear of the red base.

Sux but still a heck of a k/d. The only effective defense I found against phantoms:

-Never ever tank. They will phantom rape you long after you've been destroyed and respawn.
-Always get the phantom in the first 5 minutes of game start. This sets them back considerably
-As you and I like to snipe, we are also the easiest targets since we fly slow and straight. They will see this and shoot us easily since we wont see them as it is our past they are seeing.
If you are flying like the campers, dropping and barrel rolling the entire time, they are not skilled enough and will choose easier targets...like slow moving snipers. Ruins gameplay to change to this tactic but its very effective to get to their base and pound them a few times till they leave

I am with Max in that can we not just put them in one server until the issue is resolved and we all can just avoid that server? Getting shot down for not reason I cannot take...I have left many games just for that reason.

I couldn't agree more Max..never thought I would welcome SK and droppers, at least you have a chance to defended yourself. Most windows 8 users have figured out that they have the advantage, and have started to talk some smack about there "skills" this situation has gotten way out of hand. When I do see the phantom I will put as many bullets in them as possible...even after I got the kill in hopes of getting a couple of of my deaths back. SK, dropping, camping, is all bad enough...I have always taken the high road when it comes playing fair. I have my own list of people that im very happy to return the favor. Its hard to know who is on windows 8 until its to late...I don't leave games because im outnumbered or losing....but I also don't need the high blood pressure, normal game play is stressful enough lol. To my knowledge the good old fashion lag kill on them is the best course for me....make them rage quit. I know its not right but im feed up with this junk.

Ive just played a few games and was thinking the exact same thing of seperate servers.its an absolute joke this continues.You see these phantoms blasting away at thin air like they're on LSD hallucinating.
Respawning,flying across the water no one in sight them bam,down.
I tell ya,the urine in my bladder is at boiling point.
There is too many of them advancing reaching the second tier servers.
It is spoiling the whole DF experience.Must be a ball ache for them too soooo.

And Z says "don't blame the win8 players." Like who we are mad at has any bearing. Plus, I don't think Z has played enough to get repeatedly phantom-killed by an advantage-seeking Win8 player. This is just a serious problem with the GAME, plain and simple.

I have never understood why Win8 was added to the game ahead of major bug fixes on the motion-based platforms, but I am not Z and don't know The Grand Plan. The only data I have is that The Grand Plan added Windows8 and it is testing out poorly, poorly enough to ruin a great percentage of games for EXISTING players.

Seems like i remember something about Microsoft helping the game get through this tough post kickstarter phase. Servers or some sort of support that Zup recieved. I cant say with any clear recollection. I'd look it up but I'm too lazy.

Im all for all of the above. It's really the worst situation in my year of playing this game.

maybe it's possible Zup (maybe all of us) have some obligation to Microsoft that cant be walked away from.

Or maybe it'll all go away when Apple get's their act together and pushes the update.

Windws 8 isn't only for computer players. There are phones with win 8 as system to. I know that Nokia has it and there might be others too.
But I have to say that the windows 8 phantoms is worse then the galaxy 3 and 4 quitbug and I have already cracks in the screen...

I think Z probably just saw it as an additional market to hit, so he could afford to upgrade the game for us.

No offense Calvin but this is not the time for the Z brigade. As far as upgrades goes things worked fine last November.Im all for upgrading the lopsided games but as far as adding trees and making the carrier all pretty and laggy smoke trails,well they could wait for DF Elite,you know the one we'll all have to purchase.

That's a good point, Jeff. I forget that I'm at the high end as far as processing power goes, and not everyone can deal with that stuff.

As for the lopsided games... It's more fun to be the 1 in the 1-7! It's a challenge!

Yes the 1 vs 7 is definitely a challenge especially trying to capture two carriers.This is another annoyance where the windows 8 comes in very useful to teleport to the other side of the map.
To go off on a slight tangent, about high end devices,if i buy a game for pc it gives you the requirements to play said game ie 2gb of ram.It doesnt after 6 month get a patch which doesnt let me play anymore ie now requiring 3gb of ram.I mentioned about the incremental updates not as a"oh my device isn't compatible"but more as a"should be for DFE"and leave what's not broke alone and concentrate on the next project and by next project i certainly wasn't talking about 3D Jetfighter.Its a shocker lol

Maybe the radar should be turned off that would be more realistic and balance the game out a bit

About the only plus to this is, when Z finally does fix this problem, we're left with a bunch of noobs who ranked up shooting fish in a barrel. When the gloves come off, its hammer time!

WTh do my kills have to do with any thing? This is an average game for me. The point is the deaths not the kills. 10 of these are from a guy I can't see. That's the point. Get it ?????

ok let me update you a bit about this...

I know the situation, I know how to solve it, but I can't until Apple releases 4.4.35. The good news is that I just came to here because 4.4.35 just been released on Apple! So for those on iphones/ipad/i-stuff get it.

As for the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 situation. You can't blame the players. I've just played right now with my windows phone and the phantom goes both ways. I mean, people couldn't see me but I couldn't see them either so I was getting phantom killed non-stop. Basically it sucks for both.

Now that 4.4.35 should be out in all platforms, I can finally test and release 4.4.36 with a fix for this. I'll wait a few hours until the update makes it through all apple servers.

Zup: In my experiene it is not exactly in this way. You can shoot a W8 phantom for a while and he continuos flying as nothing had occur...

Well I'm glad that the win8 problem can be sorted now the Apple update is out. I now know I won't be shot down by any phantoms - because I can't get into the game at all. It counts up to 100% then crashes back to the homescreen.

Can anyone tell me why we needed updates in the first place? The game was fine when I first started. It's only the updates that have created problems. Now I have the ultimate problem - no Dogfight!
