Anyway, we''ve got insurance against homesickness.
We brought New Zealand Marmite with us.

I managed to play a couple of games while in the UK.
Interestingly the lag seemed much the same on the other side of the world.
Conclusion: It doesn't matter how close you are to the server? Whether you are in Europe or South Pacific.
So what causes varying lag? Local connection speeds? Device speeds?

The players you play with. Some players got slow internet connection so when they join game, the whole game is infected with lag. whenever you see lag, note down the players playing that game. Within couple of games you'll find the player who is making the game lag.
