I was there a while ago trying to check it out with a couple other players in a empty btb game. We got the bright idea to take a closer look by dropping in by parachute. Oops. It is designated "enemy territory"... instant respawn! Which enemy? It's hard to get farther away from a base than that. So all I know for sure is that whatever is going on in there is classified and it is not "friendly".

Zup, now that Rudi has outed the aliens you can get down to business. Maybe you can draw more players by making it profitable to play. How about:

* sell in-game add placements. Squads might take up a collection to put their name over some of the structures. Maybe corporate sponsors would chip in. "The Microsoft Bridge" or "Amazon Village"...

* Hire a screen writer to make the great DF movie! I'm sure it would be a blockbuster!

* a gambling server? It would cost $10 a day to get in. You could work out some sort of pay out where the top 10 performers in a variety of categories could split the winnings.

* provide a sponsorship program. Squads could offer upgraded planes to potential recruits. Kids who's parents won't let them make purchases could post sponsorship requests.

* And so we can really look out for our elders: a pension system. Look at poor Davy! Now that he's out to pasture it would be great if he had some monetary reward. He'd probably still be playing just so he could keep growing his retirement fund. I know that my wife would be more supportive if my time here was helping to build my retirement nest egg.

He mentioned the ship inside, and asked me where the ship was, because it's on the forum.

My answer to his question, now that I see what he's talking about is "IT'S CALLED PHOTOSHOP"!

Maybe we should start to remind people to try and find the tunnel as well.

Cute little movie there...Definitely Disney. Good one for any Dogfighters with young kids. (Though one scene shows a burnt crash victim)

Funny thing is how it reminded me of 'Back to the Future'. Both were made in 1985, Appearantly Disney was offered the script and rights to make Bttf but decided against it because of the mother/son incest theme. Lol. I wonder if this was a watered down time travel piece inspired by the script they turned down. Man, they lost out!

Hey Sharp,

Here is Paul's old tunnel entrance map. I have no idea if Zup made it part of Elite. Since the map is the same as df1, they are probably still there but since we can't get into the building at the end of the bridge I have no idea how to get in. Did you find a new way?. Anyone seen any new cracks anywhere? One of of the original red dots is at the Area 51 hangar at H-2.0 but I can't get close enough to spawn a tank inside. Also I know the map isn't completely accurate because it doesn't show the entrance at the village at D-5.7.




It would be cool if zup opened them back up again. Maybe just for df missions so people don't abandon the missions to go exploring like when everyone found them before.

We may be in for it. Good thing we're getting the ww2 planes soon. They have been proven effective against the classic art-deco full invasion type aliens. We should start doing some research. Check the records. Start with this historical document:

When you're not working on dogfight I've got some real world app requests for echoboom:

* I like the pipers. (The orange triangles along the edge of the screen that show which direction an enemy is when they're out of view.) Can you make those for eye glasses? They would be awesome for sports like skiing, biking, even football or basketball. And just imagine the practical use for soldiers on the battlefield!

* Red and blue name tags. It would be great to know immediately upon meeting someone if they are friend or foe. It would be huge in the business world...just imagine knowing where you stand when dealing with a sales man.

* Best of all: respawn. Insurance companies would probably be interested in backing you on this one. It might even make war obsolete. On the other hand sports could be fought to the death just for fun.

Ooh! A new mission idea!

How about a Heisenberg vs. Oppenheimer mission? Each side has to defend their nuclear development laboratories while the scientists work on a bomb. Every time the enemies destroy part of your lab the development slows down. Then once you have the bomb you have to defend a huge slow bomber as it makes its way across the map to finish off the enemy.

How about a mission with dragons?!!!

Have a nest of dragons in the valley to North West of Duckwing mountain. There should be a brooding mother with a clutch of 30 eggs which gestate and hatch. They breathe fire and can crush planes in their teeth and talons. You take off at South Base and have to fight your way North to the nest and kill the mother and destroy all the eggs. Each dragon could take 200 hits or 2 bombs. If you clear them from North base you can reload and fix damage to your plane but otherwise you have to respawn from South base. If they over run you and burn your hangars you lose and don't get any points. If you win you get a king's random in coins!
