Anyway, happy birthday bro!

Slender, what do you drive?

Land Rover Defender, ftw.

However, the cage on my roof is much shorter. The flood lights are amazing out in forests or when going off road. I love it, I've gone places even my mate's hummers get stuck.

I also have a compact ladder I installed on the rear end such as this:

It allows some great views when hunting/at a drive in theater, etc. :P

So yeah. If any of you see this coming your way:

Get in and lets have a damn adventure. Because I'm probably travelling alone or with friends.

<<<Environmntalist, right there. I want my first car to be a 2000 Civic Sedan, and work up to a Nissan Leaf. My dream car is a Tesla Roadster. Accelerates like a 'vette, and gets three times the fuel economy of a Prius. No 13 MPG SUVs for me, thank you. ;)

I get about 30-33 MPG with my diesel engine.

So long as I'm at least 30 MPG with diesel or 35 MPG with regular petrol -- I'm good. There's no way I'd buy a vehicle that gets less. That's another reason I laugh at all my Hummer/Toyota FJ Cruiser friends.

Really, does the Defender get that good of milage? I must have been thinking of the Range Rover.

Wouldn't you want better economy with the diesel engine rather than standard gasoline, considering the extra emmisions and higher price of diesel?

Heh, yeah. The thing it really comes down to is what you're doing/how you'll be using your vehicle. I need it to tow, get through awful terrain, travelling "innawoods" & for this apparent "Zombie Apocalypse" hahahah.

However, I really really hope they improve this electric technology in cars. I know I wont be buying one in my lifetime -- I have two friends both own hybrids. Eventually, the massive cells (batteries) went out and wouldn't retain a charge like they used to. So they had to get them replaced. One of my friends said "Screw it" and traded the car in to lease something. The other friend ended paying a whopping 6K for a new cell. And it was only 4 years after purchasing it.

No thanks. :P

Plus -- I don't like these new lighter cars/trucks that are made out of this plastic stuff. I'd rather be in a wreck with a metal vehicle, heh.

I've only had one wreck and it wasn't my fault as I was rear ended. I was going over an overpass when I felt small "bump". It felt like hitting a speedbump really. However, I looked in my rear view mirror to see a car smoking and pulled over. So I did the same and backed up. This "speedbump" literally made a small 1 inch dent in my rear bumper which I later went home and popped it back out with a crowbar (and it looks brand new LOL). The other guys newer car? Totally messed up his car. He couldn't even drive it and had to get it towed somewhere.

So basically, he hit me -- I popped the dent out myself (even the paint remained) and I got payed by his insurance.

Why can't more people hit me!?

I'm pretty sure regular Land Rovers with gas engines get about 22-25 MPG.

Diesel isn't really all that much since engines run much better on diesel to begin with. I've had zero problems in the 5 years with mine. When taking that into account -- you come out about even.

I think that Hydrogen is the future in fuel. The only emmission is water. ;)

Eh, the batteries are getting better so they don't have to be replaced as often. Still, memory effect affects iPods the same as it affects cars. They can't hold a charge as well after being used a lot.

I agree. Until drivers learn to be responsible (Read: Never), I want my car to hold up to a crash.

In first grade, a giant jacked-up F-350 ran a light and smashed my family's Civic. If it hadda been plastic, I wouldn't be here.

Lol, that's funny. :P What'd you get as a settlement?

Oh, you replaced the engine.

Yeah, Hydrogen cells are fantastic. I helped my friend Evan build one back when we had a welding class together in high school.

Yeah, old cars are great because of that actual metal frame. :)

Calvin, you ask way too personal questions. :P

Nevertheless, I got about $1,500 to "Cover the costs of my vehicle, doctors visit," etc. I didn't go to the doctor. It felt like a speed bump. So I just kept it and used it later to buy college books/money for gifting people.

And as I said, I only had to pop out the dent with a crowbar and it looked new still. So there was no need to spend anything on that either.

And nah -- I bought the Defender with the engine.

My lincoln is almost 3 tons......14 mpg is normal ...i get less due to driving in the mountains........i bought it for my wife, she thinks i bought it because i wanted it...lol.....soo i gues i bought her a vehicle that i liked...lol...

All jokes aside, i prefer safety for my wife and kids......i dont trust driving small gas saving cracker boxes.....i have seen many of them in wrecks and many people die...dont care how many airbags there are in them......

Now the lincoln navi. On the other hand...if i hit a train with it, i have to get out and see if there is anything left of the train...lolol..jk

As someone mentioned -- those aren't my photos. However, I do enjoy partaking in quality photography. I strongly recommend purchasing a Cannon T3i along with a 50 mm lens.

Throw in Adobe Lightroom and you're on your way to quality "professional grade" photos so long as you understand basic photography techniques.

I often enjoy using the pictures I take on my travels and adding various quotes to them. Pretty fun stuff, photography is a great hobbie.

Do u know that to get ride of the batteries at the ens of there life is more harmful to the environment. Then driving a gas gusseler. They send them to Africa only place that will allow it.

You can donate batteries to places where large ammounts of storage aren't necessary. A lot of batteries get donated to store power as a backup system.

I believe he said at the end of the batteries life. They don't hold a charge anymore and are useless, unless they are recycled. But its too costly to recycle all of them. So a lot of them will either end up buried somewhere or sunk to the bottom of the ocean. It's okay though, they'll be deep enough that they won't bother any "known" sea life lol.
