I'm not totally sure about this, but we all crash, we all get shot down, and we all KILL. The numbers vary between players quite a bit.

(I will demonstrate with my own numbers) Kills=1,612 Deaths=806 Crashes=479 so K/D=2:1 D/C=1.6, now if we take the average Kill:D/C then we get "skill level" so mine is 959.5 and simplify it to 9.6<that is my dogfight skill level.

Now take the top player, "Dogfight" Kills=60,149 Deaths=15,029 Crashes=2,526. So 60,149÷15,029=4.0, 60,149÷2,526=23.8, and that makes Kill/D:C=5.95. Now 60.149÷5.95=10,109 and simplifies to 10.1

[e]Jacob10000 = 9.6
Dogfight = 10.1

If this is way off please tell me. If not check your own against other players and enjoy.

Jacob, I think your equation is broken. :laugh:

7,732 divided by 3,653 is roughly 2.12, and 7,732 divided by 1,222 is about 6.34, which makes my K/D:C is about 2.99, and 7,753 divided by 2.99 is 2,592.97, which simplfies to... a pathetic number. Really? 2.6? Crap, crap, crap. :angry

Oh, and Watup's would be 101.1 the way you calculated. :)

Since you are dealing with numbers of a different number of digits I am taking only 3 digits from each so even though mine is 959.52 it becomes 9.6 and Dogfights 10,109 becomes 10.1

I get 2.6 on yours also. Since it factors in D/C it should show "all time" skill. So if you are a more skilled pilot now but started slow, then your "skill number" should go up fast.

Yup i suck - there is a factor that doesnt count in this equasion. I play at work because her indoors doesnt like me playing at home. If the work phone rings i dont leave the game so i crash - probably an average of ten times a day. This doesnt reflect on skill as i didnt crash out of a lack of judgement as more out of nessecity lol.

also though a while back ( I think you were playing then) there was the spawn glitch where you would drop your bomb on yourself and die sometimes twice in a row! And that happened every game plenty of times so that could also be a part of it

So in plain english, is it like this:

K / [(K/C) / (K/D)] = Skill

?


Also, if hangars bombed (H) and won games (W) are products of skill (S), then there oughta be a way to factor in H and W to the equation to arrive at some ultimate number of bad-assedness, no? Let's call it your mojo (M).

Maybe M = (H + W) / S.

Of course, if we want to express all variables in ratios relative to K, the complete Mojo equation might look something like this:

M = K / ( { K / [(K/H) / (K/W)] } / { K / [(K/C) / (K/D)] } )

Hangars and games won are the missing pieces here. Some players always fly light (they drop their bombs) which helps their kill ratio, but they rarely bomb hangars and their production doesn't really produce wins for their team like players more focused on the team concept. Not sure I get the death to crash ratio either. Good job though and I do wish we had sortable stats so we could rank players by different categories.

Im barely getting to a 1:1 KD ration right now,

I can explain

up until I was air commodore I was plagued with a brutal control malfunction that would send view into camera mode everytime I hit fire, this would either make me lose a kill, or worse, get killed. Thankfully thats all sorted out now, sort of

but yea

hangars bombed and games won are very important and I think rankings take them into account

I like walking around with a large number of games won relative to other people in my level

im like,

Games won arent important. The last game i lost was against dentinhead, b strachan and couple others. And i atill have the lowest # of games won in my rank and that game was like month ago. More than a month. Do games won doeant matter. Hangers bombed and k/d+c is the only thing that matters.

that would be good to have as well. A games lost column to figure into rankings. I guess I came aboard after he had removed it. Yea, that should definately figure in as well.

that being said
skill in this game is more than just about the Kill death ratio. Allow me to illustrate. in the BTC missions, alot of times, im looking to get killed and throwin in the tank in a favourable spot. Those kills count against me, and as far as I know, bombing the carrier doesnt figure into anything except in xp points and also towards helping get the all important win.

Won games and hangars bombed seem more team oriented to me. I was going for a way to show pilot skill only. I now understand that k/d is not an accurate way to measure skill because you can have a great k/d but if you crash all the time then you aren't a skilled pilot just a good fighter and probably not the best at landings.

No you are paying to much attention to the comma and placing the decimal point by that. I will calculate a few and list them together when I get on the computer and you will see what I mean.

On i am not wats thing ended up to be 10110.?? Right so u moved the decimal place 3 digits to the left. And ur was 956.5 and u move the decimal place 3 paces to left which is .96
