We do not know how, but our coach sent us a picture of the damage to the car and the entire driver side door was demolished and our coach said this kid was "lucky to be alive". I'm real worried; but he is having surgery in his pelvis and clavicle and collarbone today, that surgery takes 7hrs. And his jaw tomorrow. He had surgery on his femur over the past weekend. So um we can only hope for the best and a quick recovery. Don't know if he can still play tennis or not.
Dest, when I was your age, I played hockey with a guy that was going to play pro hockey someday. We had scouts from several junior teams and NHL scouts watch our games. The guy was phenomenal. A car accident stopped that. It was pretty bad but he recovered fully after many surgeries. Took a very long time.
Today he will tell you that he is the luckiest man on earth. He has a great job and a wonderful family. I'm sure back then he was devastated when he was told his hockey future was over...today he will tell you that he'd gladly give that chance away so long as he didn't have to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
I hope he recovers Dest. My thoughts are with you bud, it's tough to see something like that at your age...any age really...been there.
