This post is for CC in particular, although any Misfit feedback is welcome.
As several of you are aware, I am a definite proponent of camping. I will camp in nearly any situation, as I feel that my "honor" is hardly at stake in a game, and that victory for not just myself, but also my team, is my ultimate goal. I am also less than racked with grief by the prospect of spawnkilling pilots I know to be deadly when allowed off the ground.
However, I am aware that there are many, many players who feel differently than I do. They have a code that they deem honorable, and I have learned to respect that code by leaving my bullets off of their tail fins on a runway. One such group for which I abstain from my churlish practices is the entirety of the Misfit squadron.
So, it is with some puzzlement that I write this. I was in a capture-the-carrier game tonight when CC Rider joined. A solid pilot, I have enjoyed some of my best games with him. When he joined, I was circling over his base, preparing for reds to arrive. I had a teammate going for the carrier nearest to our base, and horriblebreast was capturing his. My plane was to intercept horriblebreast at any time he would move away from his carrier.
Anyway, I allowed CC off the runway, allowed him to drop his bombs and begin circling, then swooped into an energetic turnfight, which unfortunately was accentuated by heavy lag. When I had finished my 3-1 run, I asked him if I had been lagging. His reply was puzzling: "No, just Spawning on an airstrip." I asked him to define spawnkilling. "I'll be happy to demonstrate next time I find you on a runway." We then proceeded to fight a rather evenly matched battle, each of us killing each other once before the game ended.
I write this post to CC, not as an apology for my piloting style, but for his misinterpretation of my intentions, and the poor perception of me I hope he hasn't received. I wish for no personal feud with him or any other Misfit. (Except for Hulk, I'm racist against green people.) He is a fine pilot, and I wish him and all the 121st Misfits (besides Hulk, obviously) the best.
