Good Morning to all my brothers and sisters.
I would like to share my thoughts on this day as I prepare to dawn my class A uniform to honor my fallen brothers and sisters on this September day.
This is a rough day for the fire service a day I will NEVER FORGET
My mind has been very pre occupied for the last 24 hrs as this day approached.
I remember my fallen brothers I knew personally and those I never knew.
I reflect and sob on this day.
Please take a moment and PLEASE HUG THOSE WHO ARE CLOSE TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES.
Tomorrow is never promised to us. Every breath is a blessing.
We sometimes take those in our lives for granted and just think they will always be there.
Im sure many people that day though I will apologize later for a disagreement.
At this moment 13 yrs ago, millions of Americans went to bed quietly, with no thought that there world would change forever.
that night hundreds packed flight bags they would not live to open.Thousands slept with loved ones for there last time.
One never knows what a new day has in store.
Let us live each day to the fullest, and never miss a chance to let those dearest to us know of our love for them.
So tonight if you have someone special in your lives let them know how you feel.
Thank you all.
A FIREFIGHTERS PRAYER
WHEN IM CALLED TO DUTY.GOD,
WHEREVER FLAMES MAY RAGE,
GIVE ME STRENTH TO SAVE A LIFE,
WHATEVER BE ITS AGE.
HELP ME EMBRACE A LITTLE CHILD BEFORE IT IS TO LATE,
OR SAVE AN ELDERLY PERSON FORM THE HORROR OF THAT FATE.
ENABLE ME TO BE ALERT,AND HEAR THE WEAKEST SHOUT,
QUICKLY AND EFFICENTLY TO PUT THE FIRE OUT.
I WANT TO FILL MY CALLING,
TO GIVE THE BEST IN ME,
TO GUARD MY FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR,
AND PROTECT HIS PROPERTY.
AND IF ACCORDING TO YOUR WILL I MUST ANSWER DEATHS CALL,
BLESS WITH YOUR PROTECTING HAND,
MY FAMILY ONE AND ALL.
AMEN.
